Movie Crew UK
The UK film craft guilds are independent groups of professionals. They recognise craft excellence and work to maintain the highest
professional standards within their departments.
Membership of a guild is not mandatory to work in the UK.
Members of a guild are nominated by existing members or invited to join by the guild's governing body. This ensures only high
quality professionals are admitted.
The individual guilds are funded by member subscriptions and by corporate sponsorship. These guilds are not linked in any way to
unions operating within the UK film industry.
In order to maintain standards CGGB and the individual guilds have become increasingly involved in training for newcomers and
members already working in the industry.
CGGB was active in promoting separate BAFTA awards ceremonies for feature films and television productions - raising the profile
of the Craft Awards in both media.
